Curracurrang Falls, NSW. Australia…

from 240.00

We headed down to Sydney “chasing waterfalls” after all the heavy rain & flooding. We’d always dreamt of shooting the Curracurrang waterfall in the Royal National Park. We’d envisioned hiking to the base of the falls & shooting the waterfall that flows over the massive cliff face, into the ocean. The sky was set explode. After the recent weather, the falls were flowing! But on this occasion, it wasn’t meant to be...

We’d arrived at the beginning of the track, pushing to make the longer than expected hike in time with fading light. The hike down was a lot longer than we’d anticipated. Almost 10 minutes from our spot, these incredible colours started splashed across the sky, we had to make a decision; see if we can keep running to our planned destination, or shoot this waterfall 5 minutes before 'Eagle Rock'.

We didn't want to miss shooting this amazing sky, normally we would take the gamble & shoot the original location we had planned for, but to our surprise, we were not disappointed with the outcome. After we took this shot, we made our way to our spot, but the wind & massive waves made for a really unpleasant & washed out scene from the sea spray. It was such a relief lol. A local photographer Carl, who joined us on the shoot, informed us that he had been coming here for years & NEVER seen the falls this good.

Looking back, we’re not disappointed, but thrilled with how it turned out & still cant believe how crazy that sky was!
