Burra Homestead, South Australia…

from 200.00

When you look at this house, it might seem familiar…that’s because it was made famous on the cover of Midnight Oil's 1987 album Diesel and Dust. The old Burra cottage with its weathered tin roof and crumbling foundations, stands alone in a field just outside the former copper-mining centre 160km north of Adelaide. The disused farmhouse was further cemented in Australian folk lore when it featured in a Qantas advertisement with a children's choir scattered around the paddock.

On our travels photographing around Australia, this image stands alone as an iconic representation of this incredible sunburnt country we all call home. Wether it’s a sausage sizzle, sharing a VB at the beach with your mates in your pluggers or having Vegemite sangers at the Opera House, no matter what you get up to this Australia Day...we want to wish you all a safe & fun one celebrating all that is “Straya”!
