Some say in photography that there is 'no such thing as a perfect picture’. In saying that, this maybe the perfect reflection! We had been shooting at this spot for around 15-20 times and yet to produce an image we’ve been happy to share. The cold of winter brings some incredibly still nights and with it, little to no wind. On this chilly night, it was 0 knots & clear skies…we were pumped with excitement!

We waited here for almost 4 hours for the tide to change and in that time we figured out the perfect routine so as to capture the right colours from the Gold Coast Convention Centre, to the ever-changing colours of the Sofitel Building and even timing car break-lights crossing the Jupiters Casino bridge. Then as the tide stopped its transition from high to low tide the water became absolutely still…almost like a mirror and like nothing we’d seen before! At that time, a fish popped out of the water & the ripples destroyed the reflections. It took almost 15 minutes to settle back down. You could only imagine our frustration, but we waited and waited and after a few more shots…WE GOT IT!

The Surfers Paradise skyline is something you probably see photographed quite a bit, but we wanted to showcase the beauty of Broadbeach, which is an incredible part of the Gold Coast which is often overlooked. It may have taken a lot of patience though, but we think we got exactly what we were hoping for all these years!
